I made that face,
When you asked for another drink.
The one that lets you know I'm annoyed.
"I love you." I said.
I yelled at you.
You were painting a beautiful tree,
On my living room wall.
"I love you." I said
I screamed at you.
You were helping to unload the dishwasher,
When you broke my grandmother's bowl.
"I love you." I said.
I sent you to your room.
You were playing with your baby sister,
And dropped a toy on her head.
"I love you." I said.
I spanked you.
You chased the dog into the road.
That car almost hit you.
"I love you." I said.
I hugged you.
I told you I was sorry,
We had such a bad day.
"I love you." You said.
You hugged me.
You said you were sorry,
Then you smiled and your dimple broke my heart.
