How often I lied, telling myself that all the music of this evil kingdom was beautiful, relaxing and bringing happiness to me. When all of the time, in truth, it was distressing, ugly and bringing nothing but sorrow. Just a picture of grief, camouflaged by Satan and introduced by the music of a satanic song. His presumptuous attitude that I would always be dependent on him convinced me that I was a slave to his music. I couldn’t escape it.
As long as it was day; as long as the night stretched forth in song and revelry, I could fool myself into believing that this was life at its fullest. But there always came that time when I was utterly alone with my head on the pillow and facing my conscience. It wasn’t such a pretty picture then.
I finally approached a time in my life that I could no longer deceive myself. This music to which I danced was not as beautiful as I had earlier perceived. It was taking a toll on my life, my happiness and my conscience. The tune was depressing and I began to cry out to God for deliverance.
I remembered his Word from the earlier days of my life. King David had written two things in his psalms that began gnawing at my heart. “…create in me a clean heart…”* and “…put a new song in my mouth…”* I begged the Lord for that new song.
God came to my rescue. He brought me a new score sheet, and together, we went to work on it. I’ll never forget the wonderful feeling of cleanness that came to me there. Tears of sorrow had cleansed my life, the blood of Christ had washed my soul, the love of God had filled my heart and, like a bird in early spring, I was finding new notes for my spectacular song.
Is your life a song of tragedy and despair? Are you discouraged with the tune that keeps drumming in your ear? If Satan is fooling you into believing his mournful tune is bringing happiness; if he’s playing music that excites you but never touches your heart; if your dancing to his rhythm and don’t know how to change the tune – just ask Jesus to help you write a new song. He’s more than willing.
He wants to meet you at an altar to talk about it. He wants you to leave the Disco of the life you now live and meet him on heavenly territory. Where is that altar? Anywhere you humble your heart and ask his forgiveness. I promise you, if you place it in his hands, you’ll come away singing a new song. This song will bring peace as you lay alone at night. This song will stay with you as you go through your day. This song will be with you in battlefield of life as you fight the enemy. Your new song will be so beautiful that you’ll want to share it with others.

Great writing.
I also think about those still listening to the enemy's song, those prodigals that could be on the brink of return. Your powerful words will speak to their aching hearts, of this I have no doubt.
