Bloom where you're planted
Such an overused phrase
It becomes trivial.
But what if you're planted
In the wrong soil?

What if you're planted in rocky soil?
What if you move so much
You can't establish roots
So you never feel like you're planted
Let alone that you can bloom?

What if you're planted on the dirt path?
You're so trampled by your circumstances
You can't grab hold of anything
And you feel useless and broken?
How can a broken seed bloom?

What if you're planted among the thorns?
You want to live, you want to bloom
But then, life happens.
And just when you think you're ready...
How can a choked plant bloom?

But then the Gardner comes along.
Perhaps He will move you
To the fertile soil.
But if He does not, He will still nurture you.
What if it hurts?

Sometimes the Gardner needs to prune
But it is for your good
Even when you can't see it.
Can a nurtured plant bloom
Even if the soil isn't right?

In this earthly life
It may not seem like we'll ever bloom
But the Gardner has a plan
Much better than ours
Do you trust Him?

One day He will plant us firmly
In the fertile soil.
When we will see our Gardner
Face to face
We will bloom

Your entry made me think about the different soils that we are planted in, and how our lives might not make it easy to bloom. I really liked how you ended with looking at the Savior's face.

I guess the challenge of being in whatever soil we are in is to focus on whatever fruit we produce for others' nourishment, or on the beauty that we display that inspires or pleases those around us. But then plants do these things without having to think about them, unlike us poor humans who are deeply skilled in the art of worrying.
I like the positive, hopeful note that you use to close. Well done.

You said that you stuck with the same 'blah' idea. But you approached it from a great angle. I like the idea of patiently waiting for the gardener instead of just making the most out of our situation. I really enjoyed your entry.
