I'm a mother of three outstanding young adults. I'm not quite sure where the time has gone or how it flew by so quickly. My oldest Emily is due to wed (5 days from today) in October 2012. This year has been a year of changes as my son Quinten graduated from college and is now pursuing his Masters at Duke Divinity School. He hopes to become an ordained United Methodist minister when he is done. The baby of the family, graduated high school and is off to college to study Elementary Education. My husband, Chris, is a computer geek, who keeps me sane and our windows intact by helping me with my computer problems so I don't end up[ tossing the machine out the window.
I enjoy writing and have a dream of one day finishing my children's Grow with Me stories that are about a girl named Wrigley Grace Fieldings. I hope to start with Baby Board Books and then the reader can grow up with Wrigley through Middle School and maybe High School. I've also done storytelling and have presented my work at summer recreation programs, local churches, and schools.
Since joining FW, I've started honing my editing skills and have recently been hired as a professional editor for a few different projects. This has become of passion of mine and I enjoy helping people learn how to show and not tell, as well as other writing tips. I hope someday I'll be able to help as many people as God puts in my life. I also enjoy being a beta reader and giving my input to new writers.
I have gained so much from Faithwriters and am delighted to pay it forward. I've been a challenge buddy to many writers ranging from level one all the way to Masters. I'm also part of a wonderful critique group here as well. More experienced writers have taught me how to tighten my writing, show instead of tell, avoid POV shifts, and use different sentence structures to keep the story flowing.
I have been blessed a thousand times over. Faithwriters truly has saved my life and helped me in so many ways. I'm blessed to be a member of this family.
