Throughout the earth and beyond,
Performing actions from a list
Of deeds omnipotent.
He wakes the sun to rise from sleep
And splinter darkness of the night
With palest pink and lilac beams
That blaze to boldest orange,
Embroidered with pure gold.
He saturates the sky with clouds
That shift from shape to shape
And wander place to place
To feed the waiting, hungry earth.
He bids white waves depart
From immense blue ocean beds
And pound against vast sandy shores
With the rhythm of His own heartbeat.
He breathes out winds
To cool the burning deserts,
And He exhales mighty fiercesome storms
With power that’s solely His.
He brush strokes color and hue
From His radiant rainbow palette
To beautify buds and blossoms
And adorn both shrubs and trees
With matchless artistry.
He leads a magnificent orchestra
Of winged and feathered beings
In melodic chords of sweetest sounds
To harmonize in hymns of praise
In honor of His greatness.
He manages menageries
Of those in His dominion,
And He oversees affairs of man,
Ever seeking to redeem them.
Then at the end of His survey
Of deeds done for the day,
He stretches out a purple path
For moon and stars to play.
With all His wondrous creativity,
I’m amazed God still has time to see
A sparrow fall
And me.
