The history behind the 1500-years that it took to complete what we now refer to as The Bible was, in itself, a marvelous accomplishment.
The Bible tells us all that we need to know, but was never intended to reveal to us everything we might want to know about the past, present or future.
In fact, some information referred to as, “the secret things that belong to God (Deut. 29: 29 NASB2020),” have, by divine design, been intentionally withheld, requiring faith on the part of the recipient to close the gap between how far the given information can take him, and what he is asked to accept and to believe, in order for him to benefit.
The Bible records for us many marvelous events that took place in the past, and provides some cliffhangers of anticipation regarding future events to come.
One such cliffhanger is found in 1Cor. 2: 9.
“THERE ARE THINGS THAT EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EARS HAVE NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HUMAN HEART, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM (1Cor. 2: 9 NASB2020).”
If these things include what is going to take place AFTER all of the great prophetic events of The Revelation have come and gone, our speculations can reach the outer limits of our imagination.
Only God knows what the born-again Church Age believers will be doing, throughout ALL of the endless Ages of Eternity to come.
Sad to say, we do know exactly where all the unbelievers throughout the course of human history will be (1).
The lake of fire is not a place of extermination. It is a place of never-ending misery, permanently separated from God with no means of escape.
Its been said that those who wanted to have nothing to do with God, or the things of God during their time here on Earth, will experience just that for all of eternity future.
On Earth, we are time-oriented creatures, with everything having a beginning and an end.
In Eternity, it’s different.
“But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day (2Pet. 3: 8 NASB2020).”
The human soul was the part of us that was created in God’s “likeness (Gen. 1: 26 NASB2020).”
Our soul is unlike God who never had a beginning, but our soul is like God in that it will never have an end.
We bury the body, but not the soul.
Every human soul that was ever created will continue to live on after it leaves the physical body behind at the moment of physical death.
For the ones who will be spending all of eternity with God, I believe that their story doesn’t end with the events recorded in the Book of Revelation.
There are certain factors that will direct the marvelous events recorded in 1Cor. 2: 9.
Many that, I believe, will take place after the events of The Revelation have come and gone.
God has always been, and will always be, the One in charge.
Nothing ever has, or ever will, take place, anywhere or at any time, without His knowledge or consent, and always with a divine objective in mind.
Whatever God creates has always been, and will always be, is for the purpose of bringing glory to Himself.
The devil and his evil ones, then incarcerated in the lake of fire, will never again be allowed to influence or to tempt human souls.
Resurrected Man will be free from the fallen nature and human viewpoint that had caused separations between them and God, and them and other people, while on Earth.
I believe that God, Who has always had a general plan and an individual plan for each dispensation of human history, has a general plan and an individual plan for each individual soul that will be spending Eternity future in fellowship with Him.
The details of which will be made known to us when we need to know them.
But for now, we need to get our heads out of the clouds and get on with the plans (2) that God laid out for the Church Age.
