The subtle rain in life begins.
I feel things crumble, fall apart.
But I can’t let these troubles win,
so I must guard my dampened heart.
The droplets nearly block my view,
distract me from what’s good and true.
But nearly doesn’t count this time,
and can’t depress this heart of mine.
Chorus
I’ll fight to redirect my thoughts
upon what’s positive and true,
to fix my gaze on other things
until I make it through.
For on the other side of this
the sun will shine again,
until one day, eternal bliss.
This life is not the end.
Verse 2
The drizzle may discourage me,
but I can’t let it take me down.
So I must look beyond to see
that good and blessings still abound.
It may be cloudy, dismal, bleak,
and this is not the life I seek.
But this is also not the end,
there’s more to come around the bend.

I choose to look the other way,
so even when it’s gray,
I can still see the light.
