a difficult word to express.
To place into words what
many men do best.
The lies they tell,
to justify their means.
Of creating or following
a hollow dream.
Shrewdness,
different it seems,
the way, the cunning,
even the emptiness it can bring.
Yet people do it everyday,
and some even pretend to pray.
They justify their shrewdness,
by being cunning,
“It’s the way of the land!!”
Being the best, with the most,
that’s the way of some men.
But, being shrewd, is a dangerous game,
for when it is over, your empty again.
And at times, yes, even I,
have played cunning little games.
Then you look at yourself,
and see the lie,
and know that your soul,
a single tear it has cried.
So for all your shrewdness,
cunning and lies,
can you imagine the singles tears
your soul has cried?
So pretend not, nor should you hide,
the true nature of your Faith,
and the love for our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ.
