Life can throw you a curve ball that we never see coming, which happened to me just a few months ago. Halfway to work one morning, which is an hour away, I got a call from my Poppy, my dad, telling me an ambulance was on the way for momma for what he thought might be another stroke that doctors confirmed at the hospital. Poppy got up early every morning to drive through crazy traffic to reach the hospital before breakfast to help feed her and stayed until 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon before coming home. He would feed the chickens, wash clothes, take care of their Great Dane, and do anything else that needed doing until I got there to help.

My heart was heavy with not being able to be there as much as I needed to be for both my mom and dad after she got home from the hospital. I know prayer is a powerful tool and that the God I serve hears my prayers and answers them in His time. My job is a good hour away, I love my work, but as of late, I felt the need to seek God's guidance about where I need to be. My prayer was that God would show me the job that I would need to be closer to home so I could be more accessible to help my Poppy take care of my momma and that my employer would not be angry or upset for me choosing this path as we were shorthanded as it was. I saw the posting on Indeed, a job that was not only 10 minutes from my home but just 13 minutes from my parent's home.

The job I applied for contacted me for a Zoom meeting on a Monday, which as God was working his amazing miracle happened to be a Monday that I had to take off to stay with my mother while my Poppy went to take care of some business with the hospital. The owner called me the next Monday, yet again I was off that day to stay with my mother while my Poppy had to run errands. The following Friday I received a text from the lady I had my first meeting with asking if I could meet in person with the owner, the following Monday and did. During the in-person meeting, I was offered the job and felt nothing but God's peace and joy. Now came the hard part walking into my current job and telling them I was offered a job closer to home and took it. This past Monday before I even got out of my car I prayed that God would cover this meeting with mercy and with an understanding that only He can provide. Not only was my supervisor not upset or angry, he was sympathetic and compassionate. God is so good, and loving, and covers us in his mercy and grace.
