Working with our hands,
Don't sit idle,
Exhaling a lazy sigh.
We indeed go into poverty
If we never try
To get up and work
To put forth an effort
To change our life.
Paul mentions in II Thessalonians
The command to work and eat
We are to volunteer or work for wage
But never a busybody be.
This initiative gives our lives purpose,
To work and not stand by,
Making our lives worth it,
Avoiding trouble by sitting around.
The confidence we gain from working,
Providing for ourselves and our families,
Making the Lord proud of us,
By not putting His commands aside.
We struggle in this life for lack of faith,
In our abilities,
We move the mountain because we believe it can moved,
We remove the idleness with strength and pride.
Jesus helps us to be happy,
To cultivate our dreams,
We no one else believes in us,
Jesus died on the cross and rose so we could live.
He knows what we go through,
When we may not always want to finish the race,
When we get bored,
Make excuses and slow down the pace.
But these are the times to call on Jesus name,
Never forget where we come from,
The King of Kings will sustain us,
He will give us the extra push we need.
