Are You Kidding Me?

"STOP! STOP! Don't email me anymore. I delete it and don't read it!" stated the email from my dear friend of twenty years. I sat stunned as I read these words. The hurt that rushed to my heart was overwhelming. My self thought became " Are you kidding me? What have I done to cause this message?" When I calmed down I started to seek comfort from one of our mutual friends. She related a story about their last visit and how strange our friend had been. She appeared to no longer be our caring, loving Christian friend. Confusion set in both our minds and hearts. How could someone so smart and faithful to pray for us have changed to this callous ,distant person?
After doing some detective work, we found that she and her husband had given away all their belongings and moved to an undisclosed location in Florida. They changed their phone numbers so that we could no longer contact them. "Oh my goodness! I can't believe she is doing all this!" came the reactions from other friends. We began to believe that they had joined a "religious" cult. I became very angry and wanted to lash out but I had no idea who had lured them onto this path. I needed this situation to be resolved. I wanted to fix it quick! The resolution is not in my control and I went to the great fixer to find peace.
In Galations 1:7 we find these words," Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ." I realized that Satan is still a powerful force in our world and he still is able to confuse us in our Christian walk. Helping my friend physically was not possible but my prayers can cover her wherever she is. I will rest in the knowledge that God is more powerful than any schemes of Satan. This verse also in Galations helps to solidify my confidence in God.
"I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty." Galations 5:10 NIV
There is no need for me to dwell on the hurtful words of her email. They are only messages from Satan who temporarily has power over my friend. I will continue to pray for her and her husband. The Holy Spirit that remains in them must be causing them to constantly question their decisions. I pray that the spirit of confusion will be replaced with the power of a sound mind.

I hope this situation comes to a good resolution. Yes, prayer is a great solution.

This was an interesting take on the challenge word of the week. If this is a true account, I do hope your friend and her husband have been blessed by the Lord. I did find your entry to be a little distracting in that you did not use spacing in between most paragraphs. Also, the spelling you used for the main Bible verse is spelled G-A-L-A-T-I-A-N-S. I thought your approach to the challenge was a unique one and wasn't one that was the same as someone else's God bless!

It seems as though the problem is shared between the people you mention. Keep praying for your circumstances
Remember that Jesus would have died for you even if you were the only person in the world. He loves you that much.
If you are considering further writing, apply the good comments already given above - they will be very helpful.

Prayer is your most powerful weapon. Assuming your friend has been captivated by a cult could be harmful if she were to reach out to you again.

Preconcieved notions are usually not helpful. And back to your entry, spacing between your paragraphs would be helpful.

Prayer is powerful. The more I pray the more I am learning how to pray.

It has been mentioned a couple of times about spacing between paragraphs.

This topic is indeed unique. The hook is fantastic. However, there is a great deal of "telling" in the story and very little "showing." Keep writing with this in mind and you will turn out stellar articles!
