Bewildered and Attacked

Attacked by the enemy
The father of lies
My mind befuddled and twisted
Always racing in a constant tide

I cannot escape the turbulence
The storm Satan knows so well
I cannot do anything when he comes at me
But cry out and yell.

Time is taking my energy
I spend it trying to figure things out
Bewildered inside my mind
My faith is full of doubt.

What does a servant of the Lord do?
When in the beginning stages,
When shattered dreams and negative thoughts
Make me feel like I’m going crazy.


Yet I remember that this feeling is not from God
No, no it is all from Satan’s demons
Attacks on my heart and strength
When I try to meditate within.

Love is not about being caught up
In a web of lies
Because being God’s servant is joy in itself
So fight against Satan with the Scriptures in the Bible.

I appreciate your excellent piece of prose.

One tiny red ink.

The first stanza needed a period after tide, to be consistent with the rest of the stanzas.

I appreciate what your entry has to say. It is well received and your writing is heartfelt. I am not an expert, but the piece does not flow smoothly for me, but it does not take away from your meaning and purpose behind it. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
