The Beauty of God’s Holiness

Lord, how beautiful is Your holiness
It brings me to my knees
It shows me the ugliness of my sin
Yet helps me to see that within your holiness
is the awesome attribute of reconciliation and forgiveness
that shows mercy to creatures who are much below Yourself

Lord, how majestic is your holiness
The perfect way in which You created everything
and made me, only to make a choice to turn my back on You
Yet within your holiness is the attribute of grace
That sent Your only Son to this earth as a sacrifice
To show mankind the way back to Your marvelous fellowship

Lord, how assuring is Your holiness
That I see within You the perfect example
which shows me how often I mess up and fail
Yet within your holiness I see the attribute of longsuffering
That when I mess up, I come to You repenting and confessing
and You cleanse me, and restore me to perfect fellowship with you

Lord, how secure is Your holiness
That I see within You, someone who will never leave me,
Which shows me how sometimes I want to give up at the drop of a hat
Yet within Your holiness I see faithfulness
That keeps working with me to make me stable
A person of integrity, who’s willing, ready, and able

Lord, Your holiness is great because You’re perfect in every way. I know I will never arrive at Your level of greatness, faithfulness, longsuffering, and love, but I want too. Every son that has a father who loves them wants to be like that father. You as my heavenly Father is no different. Your perfect holiness tells me You never make a wrong choice, and you never mess up. All I have to do is see the way You do and handle things, then I too can take on the characteristics of Your awesome holiness by making the same choice.

Thank You for Your guide book; Your holy scriptures, as a manual to lead me in my every step. And thank You for Your Holy Spirit, which helps me to understand and how to implement the things that help me walk in greater holiness before You.

Lord, Your holiness is indeed beautiful, like the fragrance of a flower in Springtime. May Your example of holiness always help me to attain to the highest level of living for You, that others too will also be attracted to the beauty of Your holiness.

A beautiful prayer to our Lord.
I missed punctuation at the beginning, but I don't know if that's an accepted style or not.
Thank you for sharing - it is a good reminder of how thankful we should be.

A poetic prayer, resembles a hymn in structure, a little work and a lyricist and you might get this published in the music world.

I appreciate you writing on God's holiness. Somewhere along the way, we have forgotten about his holiness and what that means. 1 Same 2 says that no one is Holy like God. I do not believe that we can appreciate God's grace until we first understand something of his holiness. In fact, without his holiness and righteousness, grace has no meaning.
