A recent missionary to our church spoke of travels to a foreign land. Not only did the passport grant entry to the country she worked in, it also allowed her to reenter her country of origin. As long as your passport is valid, no one can deny you entry. Beware, however, an invalid one. Suddenly, one can go from most favored status, to a man or woman without a country. Your rights as a citizen are guaranteed by that passport or denied if you do not have it.
The missionary held up her passport and asked, “Do you have a passport to heaven? Or, when you get there, will the official at the gate look at your passport and tell you that you are not a citizen of this country?”
My American passport is, so important that it gives me unrestricted entry into my homeland. It can also inflame certain people so much that by carrying it my life could be forfeit. Even so is my passport as a citizen of heaven. I could forfeit my earthly life one day by wearing the stamp of My Father’s kingdom. However, without that stamp, entry into eternal life will forever be denied me.
Your spiritual passport is the most important one you will ever have. Which Kingdom do you belong to?
