I planned my trip down to the smallest detail
Now the day was here and I was ready to sail
As I stood in the line and waited to check in
A woman shouted, “next,” and took out her pen
I need to see your identification , she said with a frown
I proudly took out my documents and laid them all down
We must have a passport, what you have will not do
I’m afraid this ship will be leaving without you
I pleaded and begged, but all to no avail
My heart sank as the ship set sail
All of my plans had went up in smoke
My vacation cruise now seemed like a joke
It reminded me of heaven and how all will not get in
If we don’t ask the Lord to forgive us of our sins
Good works will not save us, it won’t matter who we are
Anything short of complete redemption will not get us very far
It’s not too late, so please don’t wait another day
Jesus died on the cross and has already paid your way
Is your passport stamped for heaven? He’s waiting for you and I
To live with Him eternally in that mansion in the sky
