Damn these internet scam artists, he swore. Five Benjamins gone for nothing.
It had all looked so genuine.
He’d been following the guy for a while and so far his online tips had been spot on. Investing some money to accelerate his journey to financial Canaan seemed to be the next logical step to take.
The words on the cursed web page he had seen hours earlier were still branded on his mind:
'Skyrocket your conversions, generate more leads, and make more money.
Click here now to book the last coaching call this month.'
But now he had a sinking I’ve-been-had feeling inside.
This coaching session better be good or I’ll skin this sucker alive vowed the honorable deacon who had emptied his savings after being laid off hoping it would turn his budding online business around.
He drifted in and out of sleep for the rest of the doomed night. Finally, 10 o’clock, the scheduled time for the call, arrived.
Within moments, Code Wizard got to the meat and potatoes of the call.
“Yours is a common problem sir. All your CTAs, sorry, call to actions, are below the fold—no wonder your site’s not converting. Put your key message above the fold and you’ll join the big boys club.”
“Huh?” said the client, head spinning.
“You see, above the fold is a newspaper term. Back in the days newspapers used to position the best stories and ads on the top half of the first page to entice people to buy the paper. These would be visible even when the newspaper was folded, hence the name.
Web designers adopted the phrase. In web circles it means content that’s strategically positioned in the top part of a web page so that it’s instantly visible without scrolling down the page.
The rest of the page that requires scrolling to read is called ‘below the fold’.”
Wizard paused for a few seconds to allow his client to take it all in and concluded, “Above the fold is the prime zone where most of the action happens— move all your crucial content there and you’ll get way more conversions. I guarantee you.”
And, sure enough, the strategy worked like gangbusters.
Holy paid off all his debts, resumed donations to his favourite charity, and moved to a posh suburb. Amazingly, he even quadrupled his tithe.
…………………….
Friend, think this is about Holy Joe and his financial breakthrough?
Nah.
It’s a secret code: JC ATF— put:
Jesus. Christ. Above. The. Fold.
In everything.
Every time.
Everywhere.
And get real conversions worth far more than the last $500 in a jobless (and cussing) deacon’s account.

The person saying this: "Damn these internet scam artists, he swore." is taking on the person and power of God.
Healthy Christians should feel "awkward" reading such thoughts. A Word wise author could have chosen:"Disgustedly he thought, I detest those scam artist".
The evil of the day does not have to be revealed by the refined Christian author.
