WHEN GOOGLE LET ME DOWN

I googled here, I googled there
I gave up in despair.
I checked out all the options,
I googled everywhere.

Then I gave a great big frown.
How could Google let me down!

I’d really like to “friend” Him,
I’d text Him if I could.
For I was still in college,
That’s all I understood.

He doesn’t have a face page.
To me that’s rather odd.
I searched the web all over,
But how do you google God?

Then my mouse dropped to the ground.
How could Google let me down!

My eyes fell on the Bible
My dad had given me.
It lay like a dusty ornament
Where I tossed it carelessly.

I picked it up uncertain,
And blew the dust away.
I wondered should I read it?
What did this “antique” have to say.

I knew the book was ancient,
And therefore out of date.
I wondered “Could I trust it?”
And “Did God the world create?”

I flipped the pages open,
And I was shocked to read,
An ancient message from the Lord
One that I should heed.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me,
When ye shall search for me
With all your heart.” Jer. 29:13 KJV

Suddenly I realized,
Suddenly I saw,
I looked in all the wrong places
To find the living God.

How could I be so stupid,
How could I be so blind.
The only place for answers
Is in this Book divine.

I finally learned to trust it,
To take God at His word.
When Google failed to answer
God’s voice was what I heard.

And so my friend for answers
Seek God with all your heart.
Google has its place,
But God’s Word His truth imparts.

That’s how I found salvation,
That’s how I found the Lord.
I’m glad Google let me down,
For now I trust His Word.

Very well written. This poem is very easy to understand, and it tells a remarkable story. Google doesn't have all the answers! (lol) Also, it was written to topic. Great job, keep writing.

PS: I hope the judges sees your potential.

I liked what you did with the theme word and connected it with searching in the Bible.

I also liked the two lines that contained "how could Google let me down?" Could you have used that about ever two stanzas? It might be interesting to be able to add that some way to make the poem symmetrical with those two lines added all along the way.

It is not bad the way it is but it might be interesting if something could be added.

Thanks, everyone!

I really enjoyed trying out poetry. Tomorrow my husband goes in for day surgery. Things have absolutely been wild this week, so I didn't make the Challenge.
