If you add these two numbers you will see that it comes out to 81. However if you multiply these numbers you will see that it comes out to 1598. Converesly if you subtract 34 from 47 you will note that the answer is 13. Then if you divide 47 by 34 you have a remaining balance of 1.38. All of which tells us what?
Not a darn thing which doesn't really give us anyplace to start this Writing Challenge so I say that we just chuck the whole math idea and wonder what fiend came up with this subject?!?!
I mean really...Did anyone else have trouble with this topic?
When I first saw it I wasn't even aware that these two noble countries (at least I assume they are noble) were'nt the same noble country! I remember thinking "New Zealand Australia...Potato Potahtoo...Let's call the whole thing off." That way I could at least go back to watching Wheel of Fortune. But I have always maintained that I could write a piece for any subject so here is mine.
New Zealand lies southeast of Australia between latitudes 34 degrees south and 47 degrees south.
I have a daily prayer list that names the missionaries for each of the continents. Under Australia we have a New Zealand team. I don't know their names but I'm going to make it my business to find out. For over a year now I have been praying for the New Zealand team and it's high time that I learned their names and what they do so I can pray for specifics.
The Christ didn't come here to save countries. He came to save people. Those people have names like Mel Gibson who I believe came from Australia. Ditto the Bee Gees who came from Australia too. If theres one kid out there in Australia/New Zealand that needs prayer (and I have to believe that there is) then it's my duty as a brother in Christ to name him and own him.
Who knows...Maybe someday I'll meet him and then I can say, "I was praying for you. Now let's get something to eat and watch Wheel."

I'd encourage you, perhaps, to look at it from this perspective: it's a Writing Challenge, so it should challenge us (perhaps to learn about something new, to stretch and grow). As writers, we should embrace opportunities to write and to hone our craft, even if they're outside of our comfort zone.
I hope to see more entries from you in the future!
Writers write ... So good for you for entering even though it was hard! :)
I think you did great.
Hey, I didn't know the Bee Gees were from Australia! ;)
