Topic: River (08/31/06)
Let me be your river. Let my words flow unceasingly, and empty into your mind, heart, and soul. Let me overflow into your life.

I will take your troubles and wash them away with the clarity of my words. I will purify your thoughts by emptying them into the abyss of the sea. Come, come into my refreshing, rushing waters and be cleansed. Dip your hands into my crystal clear waters and taste the coolness on your lips. Splash and dance and rejoice, for you are born again!

Look at the animals all around me, living peacefully and doing their jobs as they were made to do. They come to me for refreshment and revive themselves to continue with their work. They live well. They will never starve.

Look at the abundance of plants and fruit-bearing trees and bushes. Their roots grow deep into my nourishing waters giving them everlasting life and prosperity. They will never die unless they thirst no more for my waters.

Let your roots grow deep into my waters so you will grow in my Word and bear the fruit of your branches.

I will wash away your sins with my rushing waters.

I am always moving but never changing. I am always here for you. I am as constant as the sunrise every morning. You may not always see the beautifully anticipated orange glow arising on the horizon, but it is there, as I am.

When you feel restless, come and sit on my river-bank. Relax, close your eyes, and listen to the serene motion of my water running down stream.

If you are thirsty, yet reluctant to drink of my water, just dip your feet in first and you will feel the energy surge upward through your body, then you will want to submerge yourself.

I promise you that you will walk away rested and refreshed. You will always want to return. I will always be here for you. I will be waiting for you...I am your river.

I am your God!

Well, personally, I think this piece is very well done. ;)
I love parallels and allegories - you had me from beginning to end. Thought provoking, true, and comforting. I can feel that river.
