Katie had managed to keep a decent outlook on life for the past eight months by asking God to show her any wrong attitudes she might be harboring since her breakup with Brett. Of course there were days when she felt lonely even in a crowd. Being with Brett nearly every day for three years and planning their wedding had kept her busy with little time to think about being lonely. Looking back on those three years, Katie realized she had taken little time to think about anything but Brett, including her spiritual life. She had seldom opened her Bible or took time to pray. If there was any good that had come out of her broken engagement, it would have to be that Katie had learned the hard way to pray about everything.

Today she was facing the hard question about going on a family vacation. Was she ready to get away with her sister Deb and two cousins Willow and Lea spending time in close contact at a beach house for five days? Not to mention six hours driving time there and six hours back cooped up in the same car being grilled by Deb with things like "So, how are you anyway?" "Have you heard from Brett?" "Have you sold your wedding dress?" Katie had avoided most of the questions from her family since the breakup, so was she really ready to tackle this now?

Thoughtfully, Katie picked up her Bible searching for some kind of sign, something that would give her direction. What was she so worried about anyway? Why was she struggling to give her sister a simple "yes" or "no" answer? Katie enjoyed the company of her family, she loved San Diego, loved the smell of the ocean and soaking up the warm summer sun. Her sister and cousins were tons of fun so what was her problem? Was it really that hard to make a decision, or was it her pride stopping her?

Shaking her head, Katie thoughtfully laid her Bible back on the night stand and stood up. "I guess its now or never." Dialing her sisters number, Katie was relieved when she didn't answer. Not leaving a message, Katie set the phone down and decided instead to pray one more night before giving her sister an answer.

Bright and early the next day, Katie heard her cell phone beeping over and over with text messages. She knew without looking it was her sister Deb.

"Are you going or not?"

"We are leaving Saturday morning"

"Maybe I should ask someone else to go?"

Katie rolled her eyes and then text back.

"Ok, I'll go!"

"That's my girl" her sister text back.

"This will be the best family vacation ever!"

Katie set her phone down and for the first time in days she felt peace with her decision about going on vacation. Throughout the rest of the morning as Katie smiled at the thought of spending five glorious days with her sister and cousins. Just the thought of shopping with the girls, getting their hair and nails done together made her happy. She knew there would be uncomfortable questions at times, but she also knew God would be her and would help her get through it. Katie dropped to her knees in thanksgiving feeling a ton of weight lifting from her heart. "Lord,I think I am finally ready to move on" she whispered.

"San Diego, here I come" she laughed as she folded her swim suit into her small suit case. "Maybe, just maybe I will even meet "Mr. Right" Katie could almost hear her Dad clapping from Heaven and shouting in her ear: "Way to go Katie girl, there are more fish in that vast ocean, Brett's not the only guy out there!"
