It’s a derogatory quip.
A leaky roof on a rainy day,
Increases the gloom most would say.
A dripping faucet will annoy
And likely will detract from joy.
A person with a dripping nose
Will cause distress where ere he goes.
Drips of paint are not often good,
Hard to remove, it’s understood.
A quarrelsome woman, its said,
Is like constant dripping on your head.
Like stopping the wind when it blows,
How to stop her complaints, no one knows.
Now, please consider, if you will,
The needs drip irrigation fills.
Water is evenly dispersed,
Relieving the plants of their thirst.
Evaporation not so much,
Other benefits, such and such.
Intravenous drippings good,
When someone can’t eat as they should.
Many lives have been saved that way.
That is a good thing any day.
So even drips can be quite good,
When we understand as we should.
People need a closer look too,
So we’ll have the right point of view.
