After six years of traveling, I had to stop because of my health. Now my daughter sings in my place. I didn't get out of singing though, I now lead the song service for my church.
Through out the Bible we are told to lift our voices in song and to praise the Lord. One of my favorite verses is found in the King James Verson, 1 Chronicles 16:9, Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Chapter 16 is actually speaking about a thanksgiving psalm that David, through the holy spirit had written, set to music and then gave to his chief musician, to be sung at the public entry the ark made into the tent prepared for it.
But the verse to me just tells me to sing. To lift my voice and praise my God.
Another good verse is found in Psalm 9:11 (KJV)Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
Do you know that it is the duty of all who know and have accepted the salvation of God to tell everyone they know of their acceptance. But I have found that Christians, most of the time seldom speak about God when they are around others.
Singing is a wonderful way to tell others about God. Most of the time a singers heart is so full of exultation and joy that it draws people into listening to the words.
What better way to let people know of his love for them, and to praise him but through singing.
You know one can worship anywhere, but have you truly listened as a church house full of people lift up their voices in praise. There to my knowledge, is not a sound more beautiful.
If I do nothing else while on this earth, I hope to accomplish one thing and that is that I instill the love of singing in my children and that they in turn do the same with theirs. So that for as long as the Lord tarries he shall hear from my family, voices lifted loudly in song.

A couple of grammar issues to clean up, but all in all, a nice piece, and a good tribute to a rich family heritage.
Thank You.
