I think I see it Lord.
I think I see that my spiritual state ought to
Be a feast upon Your Word.
Her journey’s only been seven months,
An infant, as I am, too.
Her tiny body craves what my tiny faith wants:
Your spiritual milk and food.
Lead me, guide me, show me, love me
I pray these things to You.
Lord, nourish my faith in it’s infancy
As a newborn baby, too.
She will grow weary of the milk
It won’t hold her appetite.
She be ready for solid food and the ilk,
Baby food won’t be right.
I see her growing like a weed,
As I’m sure You see me grow.
I pray that Your Word is what she’ll read,
And that Jesus she will know.
God, Your infant cries out today,
I’m hungry yet again.
Soon I’ll crave for a spiritual fillet,
But give me milk till then.
