As a pupae turns to an ant
It must,its destined purpose-grant
For the colony to expand
As a seed grows into a plant
Its fruits it must bring
In the harvest of spring
As a puppy becomes a dog
Its bark it must howl
To greet a friend or scare a foe
As a fingerling matures to fish
Uncompromising to the waves it must be
Lest it swept away by the sea
As a cub matures to a lion
To hunt becomes an instinct
Lest it becomes extinct
As an eaglet observes the eagle
To soar it learns, and not fly
Undefeated by the sun in the sky
Thus, for the Christ child born
The following is then sure:
His purpose, like the ant
He should fulfill
For his divine destiny to be shown
His fruits, like the plant
He should bear
His identity to be known
The enemy, like the dog
He must discern
To resist a foe clearly shown
Uncompromising, like the fish
He must be
Lest the carnal waves sweep him so
The faith fight, like the lion
He must engage
For his victory, that’s all it takes
And obstacles, like the eagle
He will surmount
For his divine help
Comes from Zion’s mount
