Topic: Birth (infancy) (08/20/09)
As I look on from behind the thick
bushes, the old woman gently lifted the baby boy into her wrinkled hands and with great care, she wrapped him with the piece of clothing she had removed from her farm bag. When I saw the love with which she was treating the child I had not bothered to give a second chance through no fault of his, my heart became heavy at the kind of person I had become. Who could have thought that I Ese, with my christian upbringing could do something this disastrous? I am finding it more and more difficult each day to reconcile the new me to the person I was once. I still wonder at my power of deceit that made me to successfully conceal a pregnancy from my parents, friends and the entire members of my church for nine months. I was very clever and smart or so I thought. People including my parents thought that I just gained more weight due to the fact that I have been at home for over six months as a result of the strike embarked upon by the University Lecturers. Nobody could have believed me anyway had I told them that I was gang raped one night on my way from the reading hall by a group of cultist. Seeing my child about to be taken away by this old woman finally broke my heart and melted the ice that have been in place since that hideous incident of over nine months ago. I rushed out of my hiding place with tears streaming dowm my face, I stretched out my arms to her and said in a shaking voice, "Mama, the child is mine, please can I have him back? In a flash, I thought back to the long months in which I nurtured this piece of joy even though hate was eating away at me for being the victim of thees evil cultist. Now in a moment of weakeness, I finally saw what God has wanted me to see all this while, that no matter what has happened, he is still there for me if only I can come out and tell people that matters to me what has happened and what burden I am carrying with me. I finally realised that this baby is a precious gift from God, no matter the circumstance in which it was conceived. It is a gift of life, one I cannot do away with no matter what happen from now on. The old woman look at me with so much love in her weathered face and said "My child, you made the right decision, keep the child and bring him up in the fear of God. No matter what has happened, God cares and he is with you if only you will allow him". With, she handed the child back to me and still smiling, she picked her farm bag and continued on her way.

Wow - what a story! I would have loved to hear more detail on this. Breaking your piece into paragraphs would also make it easier to read.
This is a very powerful way to share God's unconditional love.
