Sometimes we have funny and downright hilarious incidents in our lives which make us pause and say, “We need to laugh at ourselves every so often.” In this case, it has to do with a guide dog and an encounter he had with another doggy.
A few years ago, my guide dog and I graduated from seminary and went to the campus center. On our way, we met a lady sitting in a chair in a grassy courtyard writing thank-you notes. Nothing unusual about that except she had her roommate’s dog, a mixed-breed about nine months old. This puppy, Bailey, saw us and especially my guide dog Elko, and began barking. Normally, Elko does very little barking while working, and for that I can say thanks be to God. However, this encounter proved an exception.
Suddenly, I found myself listening to what probably became a very interesting dialog between Bailey and Elko. I have no idea what they discussed, but it really caught me by surprise! This continued for several seconds, while I laughed the whole while. Perhaps it went something like, “No, you can’t! Yes, I can!...” If my sister had witnessed this, I feel sure she would have rolled on the ground laughing the whole time. I definitely felt like doing so. When a few days later Elko and I went to the campus center, this same lady and dog were there again, but this time Bailey did not make an issue of it. Elko had gotten in the last bark previously, so she figured he would do it again. If it were not for the laughter and fun our pets and guides gave us at times, what would happen to our otherwise boring lives? So let us make the most of every opportunity to laugh at ourselves and our pets!

I'd recommend a zippier title, and please expand this; it's cute!
