He fired a bullet
Apartheid over
The end of an era
They say I must forgive
And move on
I cry tears of sorrow while
He shows no remorse
The death of my brother
The end of a life
They say I must forgive
And move on
I keep vigil at a graveside while
He applies for amnesty
Sins paraded, wounds ripped open again
The end of my mending
They say I must forgive
And move on
I sit on a seat bench while
He confesses his crime
So much blood on his hands
The end of his rationalisation
They say I must forgive
And move on
I look in his eyes as
He offers his apology
Sincerity is absent from his soul
The end of my expectation
They say I must forgive
And move on
I think of the lack of justice while
He walks away free
Apartheid over
The end of an era
I will forgive
And move on
Not because they say
But He says
