I am persuaded. . .

By the sun, keeper of the day,
Rising with each dawn to make the darkness light
And sinking in gold and orange glory at day’s end,
And by the moon, watchman of the night,
Who echoes the sun with his own paler imitation

By brilliant stars, too numerous to count,
Dancing an ode of joy in the firmament,
And by raging rivers that rush to the seas,
That teem with myriads of aquatic life

By billows of clouds, racing to and fro
To replenish the earth with rain,
And by torrential storms, ravaging the land,
Along with what man has assembled

By flawless formations of geese,
Sailing across an endless sea of sky,
And by Lilliputian hummingbirds,
Sipping sustenance from fragrant blossoms

By the feral beauty of the tiger,
Fearlessly foraging for prey,
And by diminutive armies of ants,
Diligently constructing intricate colonies

By a proliferation of exquisite flowers,
Seasoning the world with color and aroma,
And by the vastness of the universe,
Yet to be fully explored by curious mankind

By massive mountains,
Wreathed with regal robes of green,
And by craggy canyons,
Slipping into the depths of the earth

By the miracle of new life,
Formed by an unseen hand
In deepest recesses of the waiting womb,
And by the instinctive nature
Of a mother to nurture her young

By the yearning of the human heart
To bow in worship to the One
Who is Creator of all things

THAT GOD IS.

That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together that the Holy One of Israel hath created it. (Isaiah 41:20 KJV)

Beautiful words and passages to describe our Lord of Lords, and King of Kings. I enjoyed this..It could be used as a devotional in church. Nicely done, God Bless~

My favorite hymn is "How Great Thou Art." This poem brought it to mind. The words of this poem are beautiful and I found myself drawn into a state of worship as I read through the lines.

I agree with Marcella, it felt like a poem of worship…it was beautiful with peaceful and powerful images, all showing God’s fingerprints on their existence!

This is beautiful. I, too look at the stars and hear the geese and wonder how one doesn't believe. Congratulations for ranking 7th in Masters and 13th overall.

I too was blessed as I read your poem. It felt like a contemporary psalm in praise of our Creator. Lovely, descriptive phrases. Congratulations, my friend.

: ) How can one not be persuaded; and I might add, persuaded by the beauty of the art of the written word as shown here!

This has to be one of the best things you've ever written. "Exquisite" doesn't begin to do it justice. It flows, it's serene, it's majestic, it almost rises as a beautiful symphony to give thanks to the creator for giving us mortals such undeserved beauty all around us. It was such a joy to read this, my dear friend! Kudos!
