‘Cudgel thy brains’, dear Shakespeare
O Bard, be thou perplexed,
And witness the destruction
Of England’s fairest text.
Poetic sweet exuberance
Flowed from your fluid pen
Enthralling generations,
But it’s not now as then.
The tolls of life and duty
In present modern days
Call for abbreviation
Of written word and phrase.
IRL - sadly speaking,
The PC’s now the star.
Shakespeare? No TU very much
They say - TLDR
‘Cudgel thy brains’ dear Shakespeare
If you were here today,
4 hundred full years later,
Just think what you could say:
When Juliet called to Romeo
From balcony above,
She’d ask in melancholy tone -
‘Where4 r u my luv?’
Or’midst the twists and turnings
Of Hamlet’s anxiety,
His problem could solved by ‘?’
‘2 B or not 2 B?’
Your works would then be shorter
But yet IMHO
The world would be a poorer place -
I wanted you to know.
Fear not PCs or mobiles
One day we’ll not them need,
ROTFL Shakespeare
And LOL indeed.
A taste of IM Language...
irl - in real life
pc - personal computer
tu - thankyou
tldr - Too long, didn’t read
2 - to
B - be
imho - In my humble opinion
rotfl - Roll on the floor laughing
lol - Laugh out loud

Abslutely brilliant.
I had a little giggle imagining anyone trying to enter the full Shakespearian test on a mobile.
Quirky and interesting.
