Monday strong and loving grace
Tuesday busy but I'm still strong
Wednesday everything went wrong
Thursday forgot to read and pray
Friday time just slipped away
By Saturday I'm wondering why
I'm just barely getting by….
Ah, Sunday.
Isn't this just how it goes? We leave church feeling close to God and strong enough to take on anything life can throw at us, but by midweek, we've plunged right back into the busyness of life.
Hectic schedules crowd out those precious moments we meant to spend in God's word. Handling the next crisis keeps us too busy to remember to invite God into the situation through prayer.
By the time we're rounding the bend toward the weekend, we realize that we've switched back into survival mode and we're just waiting for Sunday to roll around so that we can soak up more of God to face the next week.
Wouldn't it be nice if our week went like this?
Sunday fed and full of faith
Monday strong and loving grace
Tuesday morning in His Word
Wednesday's prayers I know He heard
Thursday with my neighbor shared
Friday let them know He cared
By Saturday they said they'd come
To church with me….
Ah, Sunday.
