Jesse looked over Brea's shoulder and pushed her aside out of sight. They took a quick look down the quiet stone road and then back at each other.
"I don't get it...what happened?" Brea whispered so low Jesse barely heard her.
"I don't know either." He scratched his head.
Clip, Clop, Clip, Clop
The couple turned their heads towards the road. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. The sun shone on the beautiful animal. He almost looked as if he had this colorful rainbow around him. Jesse took a closer step towards the creature in amazement.
"I don't believe this..." He put his hand out towards the horse.
"That's a unicorn!" Brea pointed at the single horn on the Horses head. Jesse ran back to Brea's side.
"I know, but look at my picture." He pulled out his folded piece of paper and showed his drawing.
"This is where we are, and look that’s the unicorn that’s standing right in front of us." He pointed at his drawing.
"I want to know how we got into your drawing!" Brea echoed as she took the picture from Jesse's hand. She stared down at the picture and she saw a gold light around the picture. "Whoa." she pushed the paper away from her body as if it had the plague.
"What?" Jesse walked over to Brea's side and took his drawing back. He watched as the gold light seemed to illuminate around the picture. "Wait! The picture is changing." He pointed at a couple that was now standing on the side of the stone road, right where they were.
"Ok, that’s it, I want to go home and I want to go home now!" Brea snapped at Jesse.
"You can't." sounded an unfamiliar voice.
"What do you mean I can't go home?" Brea spun around and stared at Jesse.
"I didn't say anything." Jesse's eyes widened.
"Oh yeah right Jesse, so who did, the unicorn?" She pointed at the unicorn behind her.
"Actually, I did." The unicorn neighed.
Brea stepped backwards and mumbled something about an evil witch and Oz.
"I want to go home before I find out that a house landed on the evil witch’s sister!" she pointed at him.
Jesse rolled his eyes and smirked. "Yeah right Brea, lighten up."
“I told you, you can’t go home.” The unicorn neighed at Brea.
“What do you mean I can’t go home Mister Ed?” She laughed sarcastically.
“Oh brother…” Jesse rolled his eyes.
“I’m sorry Jesse, but I don’t exactly want to stay in peewee’s fun house.” Brea grabbed Jesse’s picture.
“What are you doing?” Jesse chased after her.
“I’m getting us out of here once and for all!” She tore the picture down the middle and they were suddenly in Jesse’s bedroom.
“I can’t believe you did that.” Jesse finally announced.
“I’m sorry, but you should know that, although you are a great artist your drawings are lethal.” She gave the ripped drawing back to her friend.
“I know.” He sighed.
“At least now we could go back and explore it more…when we are more ready.” She smiled.
“Really?” He looked up at Brea.
“Really.” She stood up.
Jesse stared at his ripped drawing, but some how he knew that they weren’t done with that city he created. He knew there would be many, many more trips to that place and that Brea, his beloved, would be by his side when they did.
