God raises His baton and makes three sharp knocks on the music stand. As Creator of all things He readies His manuscript and looks over the lead score.

Raising His head, He addresses His orchestra; “Remember everyone, this piece is about love. The very act of creation is an act of love. The crescendos are there to get the lover’s attention, the beat is that of a heart beating out a message to a loved one, the sotto voce is whispering I love you and the falsetto of the heavenly choir are to bear witness of My love for all that is created. And above all, the accent of this piece has always been, and will always be, love.”

On day one of creation we see the orchestra coming together, ready to perform the first movement of the first symphonic piece. As the instruments warm up and are brought into tune, we see the ebbing lights of emotion come into play. They sweep us up as they run through their scales and bring us back down to rest as they settle ready to perform.

Highs and lows, days and nights, the first stage completes the introduction and prepares the heart for what is to come.

Then the timbrels, flutes and clarinets come as softly as water starting to run gently on a downward path. Trickling, sprinkling, small splashes and an occasional bubbling persuade the ears that day two of creation has begun.

The tempo now increases as the rocks are formed and the seas gather into one place. The drums roll as the earth is formed and bassoons, violins and cellos join in as grass springs forth and herbs appear. The woodwind section now leads the orchestra in praise and worship as God’s creative power moves through the leaves and rustles the foliage that has just appeared.

The third movement has been completed
in perfection.

The sound that now reaches our ears seems to be coming from a thousand miles away; but building in intensity and depth until it is just around the corner. What we are hearing are the kettle drums heralding the arrival of something great. All the instruments join in as a clash of cymbals introduce whales to breach the ocean’s surface. Piccolos, oboes and tubas bring forth sunrises and sunsets to glorify all that has been created, birds cross the stage performing the first love dance, trumpets and French horns announce the arrival of the elephant and rhinoceros and then... the music fades.

The violin starts to sweep us away into a moment of intimacy as it introduces day six.

God glances over His orchestra and His eyes run with tears of joy. There has been so much music, so much creation and so much emotion. But we have reached a special moment of creation’s symphony, a moment of great accent, of incredible importance.

He smiles and everyone knows we have now come to the climax of it all. Day six, the creation of man; and the accent is on love.
