They called me retarded. I feared to speak. Kids mocked the sound of my voice. No one wanted me on their teams. They didn't want to associate with me. Boys would tease, “Man, that's your girl.” “No way, man, I'd rather die first, she's yours.” I pretended not to hear their conversations. I walked with my head down. But something inside gave me hope. I knew my value was greater then what they thought. I needed to go home and run to my secret haven, my room and my Word. Everything would be okay if I could just make it through the day and get to my Word and drink it in. It would sooth my wounded soul. Those were my school days
I'd opened the door to demonic activity seeking for a greater power, something more then what I knew. I turned to what others had to offer; Spiritism and it fascinated me. But something inside longed for the pure God I knew from the Word. I could not turn from Him so I tried to do both. Demons came in and and some even talked to me verbally. At first, I was awestruck but then like a fish caught on a hook, he began reeling me in for the kill. I struggled to get loose. I wanted no more, but the demons would not leave me alone. I found this book to be greater then all demonic activity. As time went on and these Words became life within, the demons couldn't stand the Light of the Word and they left me. The Word became my sword. And these Words, they strengthened me. I took them to others and we studied them together finding life and truth that changed our lives and brought us freedom. Those were my university years.
A land of darkness, where truth was not known, yet, it had been my greatest dream to come here. I saw a people so sincere, so precious. . They fought Wars in the name of their Holy Book, and forced it's law vigorously on those round about them. For they thought that this would bring them rewards in their life to come. A strict and sincere people, yet lacking truth. And I alone, working among them, a single young girl, with a book of her own, which contained the Words of life and healing for this people. I knew that truth was found in this book. Yet, I was so lonely, for even Jesus sent them two by two, yet I was alone. Till a seeking soul came to me and discovered the truth that I hid in my home. The truth found within this precious written Word. We became best friends. Those were my first days on the mission field.
In time, I found him. I admired in him most his love and devotion for this Written Word. Also His sincereness and firm belief. The two of us became one and we agreed to build our house with this Book and it's written Words as our foundation. When earthquakes hit and we wanted to abandon the home, we could not, for the Word that we both loved was it's precious foundation and it got us through those turbulent times. And made our love grow stronger for God and one another. Those were our first years of marriage.
Now, we've began to plant the Words of this precious book into the lives of our three young kids. Our oldest son, four, is getting it, to our amazement. The other day a bee came after him. I wanted to find something quick to kill it. While I was looking for something to swat it with, I heard my son yell, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” The bumble bee flew away and left me standing there shocked. Not sure if I was more surprised to see my son using the Word as his weapon or that the bee flew away as he quoted those words. Even after all I've been through, I guess I'm still learning this precious written Word is more powerful then any other weapon. Thank God for the men who yielded to God and wrote it.
