TITLE: Serenity in Chaos By Sherri Fulmer Moorer 03/16/04 |

No doubt, we all have problems. There is no getting away from it – this world is full of chaos. Fortunately, there is a way to live in peace and joy despite the hysteria around us.
We know Christ came to offer us peace, but we tend to forget how to achieve it. Peace must be achieved from within. Living by joy is a choice we must make each day. The problem is how to translate our faith into action.
Shortly before his arrest and crucifixion, Christ gave his disciples the secret to unlocking this peace, when he told them “the world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”(John16: 33) . In life we are going to face problems, but the good news is that Christ has already won the victory. As believers we not only share in His life, death, and resurrection, but His victory over the world as well! It’s great to know that no matter what comes along, God will work it all out for good because of our faith (Romans 8:28). I believe true victory comes from knowing you’ve won before the battle begins.
Stop wasting your time with worry! Having gone through many tough times, I understand that your problems are real and intimidating. I have been in that place where it seemed that problems would take over my life and darken my world. The thing that finally got me through was knowing I had the victory through Christ. After all, “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). So please, leave it in God’s hands and let it go. It takes time for problems to develop and more time for them to be resolved, so be patient and determine to make a little progress each day.
Choose to live by faith today and live in the joy He promised. If you commit to this choice each day, you can find serenity in this chaos we call life.
