It is some great big beautiful but impossible concept to most of us humans...
that tempts like some sadistic butterfly that we chase
but never ever can touch, much less catch,
and as we run in circles, thinking "it is just within reach, I will surely find it in a minute..."
we
only become dizzy and depressed
from the
pursuit.
Does it exist or
is it only something
someone imagined,
like in the song by John Lennon, who sadly enough is
one of those bright and beautiful but totally blinded stars
who search but never truly find It...
Is it some elusive idea
that sounds wonderful
but is not and
never can be
a reality?
Perhaps it has to do with
what one means by the word...
"Peace..."
Peace in the world or of the world...that is most definitely a dream...a beautiful dream, but still a dream. Because the world never will again reach that perfect state of being that it had in the time of the Garden.
I think perhaps true peace is a state of mind or heart...
one that can only be reached
when there is that closeness to God which only come through total reliance on Him and His will.
It has nothing to do with what is going on outside in the world.
It is keeping one's whole being attuned to His spirit and having that spirit fill you up completely...it beautiful is a letting go of your life and taking hold of
His and its abundance.
I cannot say that I have achieved it completely but I have caught wonderful glimpses of it, mostly in others, and it is enough to make me believe and desire to have it in my own life....
Someday...
