She’s heard it many times before.
But this time, the steady knock sounds urgent!
She can’t ignore it any more.
She reaches for the knob, cracks the door ajar.
It’s Jesus standing there, waiting...
With knocking hand still in the air.
She opens the door wide, then says,
“Welcome Jesus. Please come in!”
To which He replies,
“It’s good to finally greet you, my friend!”
“Funny.” she thinks, “That He should call me, Friend.”
For it took me a long time to decide....to invite Him in.
“You’ve chosen by faith to open this first door”, Jesus says.
“As you continue your Kingdom walk, there will be more.
To open... or leave closed....
Your choices will be life altering , but
If you choose prayerfully,
You will walk victoriously. Come. Take a walk with me.”
Now, gladly, Maggie follows His lead...
He walks into the middle of Life, holding her hand all the way. There they witness Love and Good Works, Hate and Strife. All around are doors galore. “ Please explain? She asks.
“These are Spiritual Doors. Some lead to Destruction, others to Blessings, Learning and Growth. Take a look”...
Maggie steps closer to one. She pushes hard, then exerts more force, but it’s stuck! “ The Door of Indecision.” He says. “Try another.”
As she nears the next two doors, they automatically slides open. “ Those were easy!” she thinks.
“The Sliding Doors are controlled by God the Father himself. There are times He’ll do this for you. Doors of Opportunities that you can’t open.” Jesus reminds her.
She pauses, then approaches another door. She stands and waits, but nothing happens. “Use your new Spiritual Power.” Jesus urges. “This is the Problem Solving Door.” Uh...Uh...Uh... Oh!....O.K.!... finally, she pushes it open with a Prayer.
Then, Maggie steps close to the adjoining door. It automatically swings wide open! Miracles come rushing out! “ Door of Miracles, opened by God, according to your faith and prayers.” He tells her.
The next door she simply cannot open. Jesus says, “This one is securely locked. Use your spiritual key.” What is that? She asks.
“You figure it out.” So she thinks and thinks, then it dawns on her to Pray for Knowledge. Immediately she senses the Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit. She yields to His presence. He goes to work and unlocks the Door of Revelations and Discernment for her.
Then a fancy red door really catches her eye! She reaches for the glitzy handle but Jesus quickly warns, “Don’t open that door! It’s the Door of Sin. It opens easily. But if you ever, during a weak moment, do open it, don’t put both feet within. There’s no door handle on the inside. You’ll be trapped. Pray for forgiveness, and back away. Don’t let this door cause you to stray.”
Next Maggie spots a warped door. “The Door of Spiritual Confusion,” Jesus points out. “Don’t linger there.”
By this time, she is becoming overwhelmed with so many decision-making doors! Jesus says, “There’s still two more that I want you to see.”
So she approaches the next one. It is standing wide open! “This one is safe,” He says. “ This door is always open. You can ignore it, but you can’t close it... the Door to the Prayer Portal. And next to it is the Double Door of Peace and Joy.”
“There will be other doors that cross your path as you “walk in the Light”. I have shown you some major ones. If you make wise decisions with these, the others will be easier to discern.”
Then Jesus escorts Maggie back to her heart’s door. “I must go for now.” He gently says.
Suddenly Maggie feels, and looks, sad.
Jesus responds, “Since you have opened the door of your heart to me, the Holy Spirit will live there with you. He’ll always be there to help you make the right decisions, even Comfort you, if you will heed His voice when He speaks.”
“May Peace and Joy be yours as you continue your Kingdom journey in Faith and Love, even unto the gates of Heaven. I’ll be waiting, and watching, with our Holy Father. When your time comes, and you enter therein, I have no door, but I’ll say, “ Welcome. Please come in!”
“Oh yes. There is one more thing. There is a Door that leads to Testing. But I’m sure you’ll pass... my Friend.”
“And remember... always use the Service Door!
