TITLE: We Stood Still for a Moment By Sylvia Spielman 12/09/04 |

I was drying his back after taking a hot shower . . .
He turned to look in my eyes.
I saw the warmth there that spoke of tenderness.
I saw the safety of his strong arms.
He touched my cheek.
"Hey, Face," he whispered. "You are my jewel."
This moment in time was the most romantic I experienced with my husband. It happened just a few days before he died. He was not able to perform everyday tasks without help, but he always found a way to tell me how precious I was to him -- even in the midst of turmoil and suffering.
Thank you for the opportunity to share.
