how can I a mere mortal
cope with changes that disgruntle
without compromising my values
and to Your ancient paths holding fast
Then I hear Your gentle voice
Come to me
all those who are weary
and heavy laden
and I will give you rest
Yes Lord
I want to come to You
like a little child
with nothing to bring
but unto You I cling fast
Lord ,what about the world
that I live in seems stuck
and runs amuck
in disasters ,wars, violence,
racial riots and antisemitism
Then You speak again
I will bless those
who bless you
and curse those
who curse you
Indeed I want to bless them
for I too by faith a child of Abraham
I am part of a wild olive shoot
grafted to the main olive tree
sharing the nourishing sap from its root
I will pray for the peace
of Jerusalem and yonder
for here the Holy City of Peace
where a new heaven and a new earth
will be established
Come quickly Lord
as fast as You will
for a thousand years
is like
a day to You
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
For Yours is the Kingdom
the power the glory both now and forever
Amen—all these I hold fast
