walking past the palace
I saw the gleam
of a glistening sign that read
Wedding Banquet for invited guests
Being curious, I started watching
who the guests were
so it led me to eavesdrop
Soon, I learned that it was a flop
Equally amazed was the angry king,
The king reacted freaking strangely.
He decided to invite the uninvited beggars
the blind, the cleaners,
the young, the elderly, the loafers
I too was ushered in as a loiterer
The king greeted at the entrance aisle
everyone with a big smile
The guard gave us an insignia to wear
with great gratitude we saluted the king
putting it on like stars for the day
We, the uninvited, became the invited
How could it be that it happened
Suddenly king’s eagle eyes spotted
a few at the dining hall
without the insignia
Quickly, they were questioned
for not adhering to the insignia rule
They were separated
and then ejected
from the great banquet
Soon, the trumpet was sounded
and the banquet started
when the Son stepped in
with His most charming bride
to greet everyone in great pride
Then the king declared like a pastor
What God has cleaved together
let no one separate
We all shouted Amen Amen
Long live the King—a weird wedding banquet!
I woke up!
