That flows from a wellspring that’s largely unseen
But gathers momentum and grows as it flows
And changes the landscape wherever it goes.
Effecting great change it makes fertile the land
Brings lushness of life and a beauty so grand,
New growth comes to be in delightful display,
Bright blooms are aplenty in brilliant array.
There may be some rapids and sheer waterfalls,
Some swampy locations where flow all but stalls;
You might stop on your journey to take in the sights—
Sweet times of refreshing your spirit delights.
Then onward, replenished, with pep in your stride
You follow along with the river your guide,
If you follow the river you’ll come to the spot
Where rivers all cease and oceans are wrought.
The river of life flows from wellsprings newborn
And impacts a world that’s so lost and forlorn
To oceans of glory awaiting His own
All gathered as one ‘round the Lord on His throne.
