we hunger
hunger for beauty beyond
dull senses
see velvet red petals
then fade
hear intricate bird song
then wails
smell fresh mown grass
then decay
taste sweet bursting raspberries
then mold
feel sunshine warm
then bitter cold
dying, drying, sighing
for original design
senses long for wonder
Eden is the hunger
before spirits wake
there's an ache
ache for life eternal
always growing
ache to be truly loved
not abandoned
ache to be free from sin
fully known
ache for purest light
no shadows
ache in the deepest part
of our soul
ache to belong
hungry for home
crying, trying, sighing
for original design
spirits long for wonder
Eden is the hunger
one day Jesus
will return
return to fetch his
bride home
home filled with wonder
no hunger
room for all sisters
and brothers
peace reigns in harmony
no anarchy
rivers flow with life
sustaining
tree's healing leaves
for the nations
living, giving, shining
original design
return to Eden where
hunger is defeated
