Liberation comes in so many forms
As throughout history, we will see
How the turn of many events
Have affected both you and me
It took the death of Egypt’s firstborn
For the children of God to leave
They were liberated to worship Him
While Pharoah, his son, he grieved
At midnight, Paul and Silas prayed
And an earthquake set them free
From Peter’s wrists, the chains fell
So that he could continue his ministry
Mighty Samson could not be defeated
As long as his locks were not shorn
When he was liberated from his tresses
He became weak, abused, and forlorn
Lincoln used The Emancipation Proclamation
To forever set the enslaved people free
What Martin Luther King did for his people
Would forever be known as his legacy
At a death camp known as Auschwitz
Where the horrors of war were seen
Jewish survivors that were captive there
Were liberated, barely alive, and demeaned
A child looks forward to summer break
Being liberated from the toil of school
A man who robs and steals and is caught
He forfeits his freedom, becomes a fool
Shysters liberate us from our money
While others take away our identities
A multitude of taxes suck us dry
As from us, our hard-earned money flees
A babe was sent to us from Heaven
To liberate humanity from their sins
He did it through His abounding love
And the sacrifices he made from within
Jesus liberated the sick from illnesses
More than once, He raised the dead
He taught His disciples how to liberate
People from death to eternal life instead
From our sins, we are liberated
By a man nailed to a gnarly tree
Crimson blood flowing from his brow
He freely shed for you and for me
Jesus’s blood did a miraculous work
As from Satan, it set us eternally free
We are liberated from his wickedness
To live with Christ in Heaven eternally
For some, liberation is a blessing
As from misery, they are forever released
The ones who have accepted Christ
Their joy and worship will never cease
