Indeed, these seem like well-meaning terms of liberation that promise everyone the same opportunities for recognition and advancement. Nevertheless, Mona felt a little check in her spirit, and since she had said she agreed with these policies, she decided to take a closer look. Her research revealed startling inconsistencies.
Mona was shocked to learn how those in power intentionally use words such as "freedom," "equality," or "empowerment" to cloak their true intentions. By framing their actions or policies this way, they seek to garner support and legitimacy from those who genuinely value liberation. They speak with a forked tongue as their language manipulation makes their lies sound like the truth.
While the government claims to promote "freedom of speech," it simultaneously silences dissenting voices and restricts access to information. In this way, liberation becomes twisted to justify actions that maintain control and limit freedom.
"Social justice" is the banner over the labels "diversity, equity, and inclusion" (DEI), but she was shocked to learn that these words do not mean what they seem to say. For example, this "diversity" includes only members of oppressed classes, not men, not whites, not "cis" heterosexuals, and so these people are excluded, not "included."
Through clever language manipulation, "diversity" has been redefined to include only those with views of "social justice" and "DEI." Promising liberation, the powers that be censor and oppress any opinions that do not align with their agenda. Penalties and possible dismissal are imposed on free thinkers interested in true diversity.
"Equity" has been redefined to mean everyone gets the same results. Anything that produces variations in results is taboo. Any disparity is regarded as the result of prejudice and discrimination.
Consequently, achievement and merit must be disregarded as racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and Islamophobic. Education in advanced courses in math and science must be terminated, and measures of achievement must be deemed racist, and so on, and terminated.
Mona thought of how school children get certificates for "participation" rather than achievement today. Everybody wins. Everybody is the same.
"Inclusion?" That is only for persons who fit their plan. The word's original intent is discarded and changed to serve their interests. Certain rights and privileges are granted to some groups but not to others.
Mona's research encouraged her to reject the lies and stand for true justice. She did not pursue her job application any further but instead determined to go against the flow and be an informant regarding the state of affairs. She knew God would provide another avenue of support for her as she turned her journalistic talents to debunking the lies.
Like Mona, we must be aware of this widespread deception but not yield to it. The Word of God tells us to hold fast to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He alone is the path to true liberation, where all people are valued, encouraged, and blessed. When He speaks of diversity and equity, He affirms each person's individuality and uniqueness and tells how all fit together. And "inclusion?" Jesus died for all people so that whoever comes to Him will be included.
