I look for people of integrity
I can trust completely
worthy of my esteem
a role model to me
A man of integrity is Joseph
who chooses to trust
instead of fame power and lust
He resists Potiphar’s wife
to face the music in a dungeon
He chooses to trust
while in prison
using his gifts to interpret
to give meaning and purpose
to his inmates’ life
A man of integrity is Daniel
who chooses fruit and vegetables
instead of choice meat and wine
to stay worthy of his calling
to trust God in all circumstances
He refuses to bow
before the king’s statue
earning a place in the lions’ den
in the end with a Friend
who sticks closer than a friend
Joseph and Mary
a couple of integrity
subject to gossips and shame
choose to trust and obey
to follow a better way
Jesus the promised Messiah
full of integrity
and moral beauty
is beyond compare
My Lord and Saviour
Without any guile
or pretence
Truth and mercies
mingled with integrity
is what I see
From earthly ministry
to Calvary
Christ shows his integrity
doing the Father’s will
unflinchingly
Your life and living example
I aspire
How I long to draw near
to find needed strength here
where truth and honesty squandered
