“What are you going to do?”
She jerked her head toward her sister and traveling companion, Jadyn Miller. “I don’t know what to do. I don’t even remember that I still had that picture on my phone. I thought that I had deleted all of that…stuff a long time ago. I can’t believe that I missed that.”
Her sister nodded. “I made sure that I deleted anything like that a long time ago. I wasn’t about to take a chance having to go through…” Her voice trailed off as she glanced out the window.
Janice shook her head. “I know; I should have checked more carefully.” She bit her lip. “Maybe they won’t catch it. Even if they did, maybe they wouldn’t make a big deal out of it.”
Jadyn made a strangled sound. “Wouldn’t make a big deal out of it? Are you joking? They make a big deal out of everything. That would be a Class Two Violation, maybe even a Class One.”
Frowning, Jadyn gestured out the window. “Does it look like we’re slowing down?”
“I think you’re right. We’re still a long way from the terminal. We won’t be there for a little over an hour. I wonder what’s going on, Jadyn?”
“I don’t know. Maybe the train is having mechanical trouble.” She glanced worriedly at Janice. “It’s probably nothing.”
The train rolled to a stop. “We’re at a crossroads,” Janice said, looking out the window toward the front of the train. “There are two black SUVs parked there and there are some men getting out and walking toward the train.” She jerked her head back to her friend. “Toward us? Toward me?”
“I don’t know,” Jadyn said. She grasped Janice’s hand in her own. “We need to pray,” she whispered. “Not out loud.”
Janice glanced at their fellow passengers. Confusion was evident on some of their faces as was apprehension. “It could be they’re after someone else on the train.”
“Maybe,” Jadyn said, glancing across the aisle. “I think I better text Jake and let him know what’s going on.”
Janice nodded. “I think that’s a good idea. Your husband will be worried about us if we’re late.”
The door at the end of their car slid open and three men dressed in dark suits stepped through. The one in front, a tall man with short-cropped blond hair, held up a badge. “Homeland Compliance. I’m Agent Tanner.” He didn’t introduce his companions.
His eyes slowly swung around the interior of the compartment. “We’re looking for someone. Janice Ewing. Her phone pinged as being here.”
Janice froze. “Oh no,” she whispered as Jadyn gripped her hand tighter.
Suddenly, Tanner made his way down the aisle, stopping just in front of them. His eyes locked on Janice. “And I believe we have found her.”
Swallowing hard, Janice nodded. “I’m Janice Ewing. What…what do you want with me?”
His smile was feral. “I believe that you know the answer to that question. Your phone was recently scanned remotely and contraband material was found on it. We were in the area concerning another matter and HQ asked us to take care of this.” His smile widened. “Since we were in the neighborhood, as it were.”
Starting to rise from her seat, Jadyn cried out, “She didn’t do anything wrong! It’s just a picture! She deleted it!”
Tanner glared at her. “Sit down!” His eyes shifted to Janice. “It doesn’t matter; the photograph was on your phone at the time of the scan. You are coming with us and you are coming right now. You will be… re-educated.”
A passenger across the aisle, an older man with a stricken face, asked, “What was on the phone?”
Slowly, Tanner turned to the man and sneered. “A picture of a man kneeling in front of a cross and, to make matters even worse, he was…praying.”

Since I was once betrayed, "Betrayed" title caught my eye.
One year of grudge carrying finally ended when I wrote him a letter of forgivness. No reply but my grudge was gone
