Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
that I may bring light
to a world getting darker and darker

Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
that I may shine forth You light
on those
who live in darkness

Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
that is ever ready
to radiate Your light of Truth
to those who thirst after reality

Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
to shine Your light of love
to those neglected unloved
and even marginalised

Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
to shine Your light of joy
to a world that has lost
her first joy and pleasure

Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
to shine Your light of Hope
on those who sunk in despair
and despondence

Help me to be a lamp
on the stand
to shine Your light of peace
to places where unrest
and disquiet reign

Help us to be a lamp
that shines together far and wide
to untouched lands
with the oil
You provide

Lord we humbly pray
Give us oil
in our lamp
and keep us burning burning
till You return one day
