Wow this is just wow. My daughters both teach/counsel little kids like Samantha and there are far too many Samanthas in the world and not nearly enough Mallorys to go around. Awesome job and one of my all-time favorites.

Had to wipe my tears dry, take a deep breath before I could write!

Wow! Wow! Wow!

This story is so powerful, emotional, and intense, I am overwhelmed.

I worked my entire career in nursing homes, so that image of Mallory got to me. But, the image of Samantha, my sister a school RN, and she has told me countless stories like Samantha.

So... this really touched my heart...it was so personal to me.

Excellent job, I am sure this will garner the Judges attention and it will get acclaim.

Blessings~

Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition of excellence.

How absolutely beautiful! I read it with tears flowing freely down my face because I had a Samantha in tbe first grade class I taught years ago. I read your poem aloud through the eyes of Miss Mallory. What a sensitive, lovely, compassionate piece. Your first place win was well-deserved. Kudos.
