I’m sorry it won’t happen again?
But just as I walk away
my will to obey starts to bend.
The fear that eats at me
is when will God not care?
He hears the lies I promise Him
and still He’s always there.
I wander through these halls
Trying to find my way.
The lies I tell to God
Make up the words I pray.
There are times I talk to God
I don’t think He even hears.
I feel so all alone
it brings on these bitter tears.
I sit here in mortal pain
not knowing what to do.
A man reaches down to lend a hand
with the plight I’m going through.
It seems when I’m in trouble
an angel shows me the way.
Comes to me in the nick of time
and knows just what to say.
I told him of my failures
how I lied to God again.
He told me not to worry
have faith, God is my friend.
God’s like a cup and saucer
God is there to hold me up
He fills me with the living waters
then steadies me, the cup.
God said, once I’m forgiven,
it’s like the east is from the west.
He understands my weakness
that I’m doing my very best.
The Lord taught me to have faith
believing is the start.
He forgives because he knows my ways
for He lives within my heart.
