“Me?” Silvia said. “Do I know you?”
“No,” whispered her guardian angel, “but I'll show you.”
Suddenly something like a big movie screen appeared showing what had happened on Earth. The red-headed woman sat at her computer reading. She came across a verse from one of Silvia’s poems.
My bride, my temple, loved by me
What is this snare that's captured thee
I shed my blood to set you free
yet, you choose sin consistently...
It convicted her heart. “Ben”,she said turning the computer off. “Are you going to marry me or not.”
He laughed, ”I'm not the marrying type.”
“Okay, that's all I wanted to know.” She began packing her bags.
“What are you doing? Everything has been fine, we don't need to get married.”
“Maybe you don't, but I need to do what's right. If you're not going to marry me, I'm out.”
That day she recommitted her heart to Christ.
“Silvia Farms?” asked another plump brown-skinned lady excitedly approaching them.
“This is Josey,” whispered her guardian angel, “She was motivated by one of your poems to answer the call of God.”
“When I was resisting the call of God,” Josey said, “ I read one of your poems about the Call and it convicted my heart.
I went as a missionary to India. I led one young girl to the Lord and discipled her during the five years I spent there. That girl later led multitudes to Christ.”
“Wow, really?” Silvia said shocked.
It wasn't long before another bright-eyed, rosy cheeked lady interrupted their walk. “Silvia Farms... that story you wrote about the clumsy missionary touched my heart. I wanted to be a missionary, but I had never heard the call. In that story, the need became the call. People were needed but no one was going. That clumsy lady went and God used her there. I knew that story was written just to me. I answered the call of God and went to Libya.
“What happened when you went to Libya?” Silvia Asked.
“I never saw the fruit of my labor there. But when I came here, an old lady greeted me. She reminded me of how I'd tell her about this lovely Jesus and encourage her to read the Bible I gave her. She finally read it one day. She became a Christian after I died and soon her husband did, too. He also became an evangelist there and eventually a Martyr. But she carried on his ministry and many were led to Christ through their work.
Silvia was so happy for the seeds she'd sown.
“That's not all,” her angel said. He showed her a field of what looked like hundreds of thousands of people. “they were all affected by your work either directly or indirectly.”
“I never knew... I never knew anyone was really touched by my writings. I just yielded to God and wrote as He inspired me.”
The angel smiled as he talked with her. “Most of the time, you never really thought your work was that good.”
“Well, I was never really popular and my writings certainly weren't best sellers.”
“But now, you see, it wasn’t about how popular your writings were or how much they sold, it was about how you yielded to God and wrote under the unction and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.”
“I hope other writers will realize their true call before they come here,” Silvia said.
“Me too,” he replied as they walked towards the Great Throne.
A few minutes later, they stood at the Throne before the King. Silvia fell flat with her face to the ground for He is so magnificent. Then The King said the words she longed to hear.
“Well done my good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful with the little gift I’ve given you and now I shall make you ruler over much.”
