He resurrected all the parts together into One.
He did not simply mend the pierced and wounded side alone
But bound it to the tattered back and healed the joint and bone.
Restored, the torn and bleeding brow was knit with mangled flesh,
Uniting both into a Head of holy loveliness.
When all the shattered parts were one, God issued His command,
And from the tomb His Son arose with vict’ry in His hands.
And with that resurrection pow’r, the same Almighty binds
Our many broken hearts as one and heals our wounded minds.
For from these vast and sullied parts, once worthless and undone,
He works again and makes of us the Body of His Son.
Then striding from our tombs of night, our praises fill the sky;
For all alone, we each were dead; but as His Church, we rise.
